Sharjah Women's Union Society

Establishment
The Sharjah Women's Union Association was founded by Sheikha Noura bint Sultan Al Qasimi (may she rest in peace) in collaboration with women from the Sharjah community. It began in 1968 with the establishment of literacy classes and evolved to become the first women's association in the country in 1973, aimed at empowering and supporting women. The association attracted more women from the community and activated women's participation across various fields. Its activities are organized into several committees, including the Cultural Committee, Social Committee, Religious Committee, Genetic Diseases Association, and Adult Education. The association receives strong support and encouragement from His Highness. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, may God protect him.
